Our approach is to complement school meals through an inclusive school gardening model—creating space for the school community to grow food and contribute to a more sustainable approach to school feeding.
Our first garden at Ng’abolo Comprehensive School has grown beyond vegetable production. Today, it serves three connected purposes:
Agroecology In Practice
The garden provides space for vegetable production that can supplement some of the nutritional needs of school meals.
Learn by Doing
The garden is also a practical learning space where children can explore agriculture, carry out small practical projects and learn through direct experience.
Parental Involvement
The space provides an opportunity for parents and community members to learn and exchange knowledge around regenerative agriculture and practices that can support healthier soils, food systems and livelihoods.

The next phase will focus on building on what we have learned at NKISHON Agroecology Garden, strengthening the garden’s systems and creating more opportunities for students, teachers and community members to participate.
